Please don't ignore relationships….

Establishing a strong business relationship with your clients and prospects is very essential, especially when you are in your very first year of business.  Those who disregard this will see that their business will go nowhere.

Yes it is true. Your business will not grow and prosper.

In fact you may experience a lot of financial outgoings instead of positive cash flow and before you know it, you won’t be able to sustain the business. You will probably have to go through that painful decision making process of either closing the business  down or hastily trying to look for other financial resources that can help you during the interim.

Blimey, you don’t want that to happen do you?

Successful business people know that any growing relationship, whether a personal or a commercial relationship, is unique to every pair of individuals, and it evolves over time. Treat them like your family and friends whom you love and the returns you’ll get will be priceless.

I understand that there are many businesses out there today who will use every possible tactics when it comes to looking for a quick sale. Sometimes, the tactics used can be extremely unethical. I am not really going to go there but what I want you to realise is that you can still profit from a prospect even if he declines your offer.

One quick example is – referrals.

People are usually happy to provide you with free leads if they feel that you are trustworthy and genuinely wanting to help solve a problem. Who knows, maybe 2 years down the line, that very same client who turned you down may call you up out of the blue and ask for the order.

Will that not be great?  That’s like ‘kerching’ to my ears

So remember, business relationships is not a one way street, there must be give and take or it will fall apart. It will take time and you need to be patient. Stay consistent and you will eventually get there!

Feel free to share your comments and opinions.

All the best,

Ambar.
